About Me

My photo

I'm a former hospital radio/club/mobile DJ, avid record collector and amateur musician (playing guitar, keyboards, recorder, harmonica and percussion.) I've even filled in on bass guitar for a couple of local bands as well (although that was quite a few years ago). Also interested in Motorsports, Wrestling/Mixed Martial Arts and Classic Television and Radio from the 1960s - 1980s.

Why am I on here? Well, I'm just trying to make some sense of life before it's too late...but who cares anyway?

So what's the point of this then?

Just for something different to do, I've decided to start this new blog, which takes a bit of an in depth look through my music collection.  Let me make this clear before I go any further though, I'm not a bona fide music critic,  just a keen fan who loves his music, having been a collector for as long as I care to remember.

Mind you, my collection doesn't just reflect what I was listening to as a teenager in the late 70s and early 80s, but also some of the stuff my parents were playing as well.  Music was a big part of my life - not just from listening to the radio, or records played on a battered old Dansette Bermuda at home, but my interest was also developed with help from a teacher at the local junior school, who just happened to be a keen guitarist as well.  (mainly because he was the one who encouraged me to start playing the instrument in the first place - but that's another story for another time.)

So with the basic premise set (and a new needle installed in the old stereo), let's start delving into the boxes and shelves, dusting off the old vinyl (and shellac for that matter) and start spinning in a few tracks....
